Job Title: Call Center Pharmacy Technician

Location: Arlington, TX

Pay: $15/hr

Schedule: Flexible to work Monday - Sunday, between 7am - 11pm

Job Description:

  • Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients using exemplary customer service skills.

  • Accurately enter required information (non - clinical and structured clinical data) into computer database.

  • Review structured clinical data matching it against specified medical terms and diagnoses or procedure codes (without the need for interpretation) and follow established procedures for authorizing request or referring request for further review.

  • Call back providers with Pre-certification numbers as needed and file completed Pre-certification requests as per established procedures.

  • Call hospitals for discharge dates as needed.

  • Refer callers to benefit departments of correct claims administrator when requesting benefit information.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality as defined by state, federal and company regulations.

  • Establish effective rapport with other employees, professional support service staff, customers, clients, patients, families, and physicians.

  • Actively support departmental and corporate strategic plans and ensure successful implementation.

  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with all ICM departments and providers.

  • Support company and departmental QA/QI initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Prior Authorization experience

  • 2 years of Pharmacy Tech Experience

  • High School diploma/ equivalent

  • ICD-9 ICD-10 experience

  • Two years of call center experience in a quota driven environment

  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Lotus, and related call center

  • Knowledge of AS 400 preferred

  • Proven high level oral and written communication skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Self Motivated - ability to work independently
