Job Title: Revenue Cycle Self-Pay Collector

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Essential Duties:

As a revenue cycle self-pay collector, you will be responsible for thorough and timely patient account follow up to ensure accurate accounts receivable reporting and to ensure payments by primary and secondary payers and/or self-pay patients are accurate. The self-pay collector will be responsible for daily generation of patient pays and applying unapplied payments.

General Job Responsibilities:

• Accurate and timely follow up and resolution for all accounts receivable

• Meeting and maintaining cash collection goals

• Understands EOB/COB and can explain to patients when necessary.

• Manages past due patient accounts.

• Responds to a high volume of patient calls generated from self-pay statements

• Analyzes self-pay balances to determine patient responsibility & establish payment plans

• Submits services to the insurance carrier

• Processes patient payments

General Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• 2 to 5 years experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field

• A spirit of cooperation and a positive can do attitude

• Experience working in customer service or patient collections is preferred.

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills including the ability to relate to people at all levels

• Bilingual preferred

• Strong understanding of all Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
