Job Description
CornerStone Staffing has teamed up with a MAJOR HR Solutions company to seek out a talented Tax Filing Operations Lead with a strong background in team management, Microsoft Excel, ADP Master Tax/Compliance, and payroll tax filing experience for a fully remote role.
Schedule: M-F, 7AM start time [40-45 hours per week - paid OT during peak season]
Duration: Contract [Potential to go permanent based on business needs/performance]
Pay Rate: $52/hr.
Location: Remote - equipment provided!
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Tax Filing Operations Lead to manage and oversee the efficient administration of tax filing processes for assigned legal entities. In this role, you will ensure compliance with tax jurisdiction guidelines and maintain high standards of client satisfaction by managing tax remittances, addressing escalations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. You will also focus on process improvement, mentor colleagues, and provide subject matter expertise to clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities:

Client Management: Provide exceptional support and guidance to clients, ensuring their tax filing needs are met with accuracy and timeliness. Address escalations with a sense of urgency and resolve issues promptly.

Process Improvement: Monitor and audit tax filing processes to identify opportunities for enhancement. Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into issues and communicate findings to the team and clients. Drive improvements based on analysis results.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of client services. Foster partnerships to enhance cross-functional collaboration and improve overall performance.

Education and Training: Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on tax filing procedures and best practices. Facilitate training for new hires and ongoing professional development.

Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain meticulous records. Analyze metrics to identify trends and support continuous improvement.

Supplier Oversight: Manage relationships with tax filing suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Oversee testing for updated interfaces and verify EFT setups.

Client Communications: Maintain open lines of communication with clients, providing updates, educational resources, and support as needed.

Problem Solving: Utilize your tax expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, providing innovative solutions.
Education and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax filing or a related field.

Proficiency in payroll and tax regulations and legislative guidelines.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in client management and people leadership.

Advanced computer skills and familiarity with tax filing software (Master Tax and ADP Smart Compliance experience required).

Experience with amends returns preferred.
