Job Title: Production Graphic Artist

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Pay: Up to $18/hr - depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (occasional Saturdays) - TEMP TO HIRE

Job Description: This position is responsible for producing art layouts and files that accomplish the workflow of the art department. Responsible for the creation of print production mechanicals and execution of prepress functions for various decoration methods including screen print, deboss, foil stamp, medallions, and copy print.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with manager to support art department objectives.

  • Maintaining high level of detail and accuracy when preparing artwork pdf file versions, managing internal proofing and final art release. Working within deadlines, and adapting to change priorities. Collaborating with production and planning to determine best practice file prep to satisfy project requirements.

  • Making critical technical decisions impacting design content including color, layout, images and text.

  • Applying knowledge of latest materials and print technologies, when making critical art production decisions.

  • Knowledge of principles of design, color, and screen printing.

  • Work with manager on art work production and prioritize work to meet production schedules and customer demands.

  • Updating art processes in conjunction with the CMS database (Communication Management System) and art file archives.

  • Support the Collegiate Licensing art process.

  • Working with Customer Service team and Production team to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Understanding how to solve production/printing problems

  • Solid technical understanding and proven experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office Suite.

  • Participate in continuous improvement practices to support efficient and effect work, including recommending relevant technological advances for the department.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • B.A. in Graphic Design or equivalent or 3-5 years of experience of related graphic arts production experience.


  • Proven experience working in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, IllustratorProficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Must be comfortable working on a PC

  • Excellent portfolio showing range of styles and formats

  • Understanding of print and digital production specifications and requirements for asset delivery, experience in screen print industry a plus

  • Ability to work quickly with flexibility in high pressure situations

  • Attention to details, customer service orientation, and creative problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and communication skills

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to read and understand information and ideas in writing.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to operate a computer terminal, decipher, and manipulate graphic software packages. Ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around and when parts are rearranged.

  • Extensive visual contact with the computer monitor and extended sitting required. Some stooping, kneeling, and walking required. Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required for trade show preparation. The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). The ability to match and detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
