Inpatient Medical Coder Pay: Up To $65/hr (based on experience)

Inpatient Medical Coder Shift Hours:

(2 Month Contract, BUT Possibly Longer)

• Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

• Flexible for OT as needed including weekends depending on the business needs

Inpatient Medical Coder Job Description:

• Accurately abstract information from the medical records and assign ICD-9/10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS Level II codes in compliance with established guidelines

• Review supporting clinical documentation for hospital based services and procedures to ensure accurate code assignment in support of third party payer guidelines.

• Maintain Excel worksheet to record/track discrepancies

• Provide codes to various departments upon request

• Participates in special projects and/or completes other duties as assigned

Inpatient Medical Coder Requirements:

• REQUIRED: Inpatient coding services - IP hospital based coding experience

• REQUIRED: 2+ years AHIMA or AAPC coding credential experience

• REQUIRED: License/Certification (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, AHIMA or AAPC)

• REQUIRED: EPIC, Optum software

• REQUIRED: Medical Terminology

• REQUIRED: 2 professional references

• Strong computer skills

• Microsoft Excel knowledge

• Strong data entry skills

• High School Diploma or GED

Inpatient Medical Coder Immunizations Required:

• COVID Vaccination

• Flu Shot

• TB Vaccination

• TDAP Vaccination

Inpatient Medical Coder Process Includes:
