Construction Payroll & Onboarding Specialist

Location Lewisville, TX | Onsite

$50,000 - $60,000/year

ROLE IMPACT
The Construction Payroll & Onboarding Specialist plays a critical role in supporting a dynamic construction workforce through timely, accurate weekly payroll and high-touch onboarding. Success in this role ensures seamless workforce mobilization and compliance in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute weekly payroll cycles for field and office teams, ensuring accurate processing of hours, deductions, and benefits
Maintain compliant and organized payroll records; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
Manage onboarding from offer through first day, including document collection and system setup
Conduct engaging orientation sessions and act as a go-to resource for new hires
Field and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll, onboarding, and system navigation
Collaborate with field supervisors and HR to support smooth transitions and staffing coverage
Identify and troubleshoot technical issues within payroll/HR platforms

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years payroll experience in the construction industry or comparable field
Proven ability to manage high-volume weekly payroll and onboarding cycles
Comfortable troubleshooting basic system issues and navigating multiple platforms

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
Payroll software
HRIS and onboarding tools
Time-tracking systems (manual and digital)
Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED SKILLS
Familiarity with union and non-union labor classifications
Knowledge of prevailing wage, certified payroll, or multi-state tax laws
Spanish-Bilingual
