Job Title: Computer Operator
Location: Dallas, TX
Pay Rate: $17.82/hour
Schedule: Night shift Wed - Sunday 12:00 AM 8:30 AM with Monday and Tuesday off
Growth Potential: Exceptional candidate may be moved into a long-term temporary role, contingent upon performance
Key Responsibilities:

Utilize monitoring tools such as NetScout and VMware to generate alerts, create dashboards, and monitor system health to identify and address issues proactively.

Document and track follow-up actions, ensuring successful resolution of incidents through effective bridge management.

Provide vendor escorts for network and server resources during business hours, and accompany them to designated locations in the main building after hours as needed.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and computer analysts to report system activities or anomalies for accurate and thorough record-keeping.

Support financial applications by printing accounts payable (A/P) checks on demand.

Use applications to initiate technical bridges for high-priority incidents, assist analysts in developing standard operating procedures, send email alerts to vendor partners and infrastructure teams, and manage shared operational files online.

Manage office supplies by restocking items, tracking deliveries, and notifying staff of incoming packages.

Perform administrative tasks, including electronic filing, answering phone calls, assisting customers, and using encryption applications on multi-function printers to secure documents, print, and fax

Monitor computer systems, networks, and applications for performance, errors, or alerts requiring immediate attention.

Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and timeliness of all alerts.

Respond promptly to alerts, warnings, or emergency situations by initiating appropriate communication workflows.

Collaborate with city officials and department heads to prioritize and escalate urgent notifications.

Coordinate with IT teams to troubleshoot issues, install updates, and conduct scheduled maintenance.

Adhere to city policies, confidentiality requirements, and communication standards.

Stay updated on changes to alert protocols, systems, and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

Maintain punctual and consistent attendance as required.

A background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Prior experience in IT operations, communication systems, or a similar role is advantageous.

Proficiency in computer operations, including system monitoring tools and communication platforms.

Familiarity with database management, email systems, and alert software.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
