Job Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist
Location: Downtown Dallas, TX (must pay for parking daily)
Pay: $25/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hybrid schedule)

Position Overview
Join the team and play a vital role in helping City of Dallas departments reduce environmental risks and advance climate mitigation programs. This position involves working collaboratively to enhance sustainability and compliance initiatives, aligning with the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist departments in environmental compliance and process improvement.

  • Develop and maintain EMS guidelines, procedures, and policies.

  • Conduct EMS and compliance audits, including reporting and analysis.

  • Design and deliver training on environmental stewardship and compliance.

  • Analyze environmental risks and monitor compliance data.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance sustainability practices.

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.

  • Requires field work, must wear steel toe boots

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in environmental science, management, or related field.

  • Experience: At least 12 months of compliance inspections, auditing, or risk assessments, plus 3 years in at least two of the following areas:

    • ISO 14001 standards

    • Waste management regulations

    • Clean Water Act and air quality compliance

    • Petroleum storage tank rules

    • Environmental training and regulatory coordination

  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong communication abilities, and knowledge of environmental laws/regulations in Texas.

  • Requirements: Valid U.S. driver s license, ability to carry 15 lbs., and walk continuously in steel-toed boots for up to 2 hours.

  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential.
