ROLE IMPACT
As a Medical Billing and Collections Specialist, you will contribute directly to the efficiency and financial stability of the Revenue Cycle team. Your attention to detail and knowledge of payer regulations will support faster reimbursements, accurate claim resolutions, and improved patient experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform timely medical billing and collections functions to ensure accurate reimbursement
Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections in accordance with payor and government guidelines
Communicate with patients and insurance providers via multiple channels regarding account status
Accurately record account activities and updates in billing systems
Collaborate with third-party agencies for collections or account management when necessary
Monitor payment trends and provide insight on potential delays

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
1 3 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle or hospital billing environment
Familiarity with UB-04 and HCFA 1500 billing forms
Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
EPIC or other EHR systems
Medicare/Medicaid billing portals
Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Internal AR/billing platforms

PREFERRED SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience with claim resubmission processes
