Job Description: Loan Accounting Associate

Location: Irving, TX, On Site

Pay: $20.00-$27.00/hr. BOE

START DATE: ASAP

BASIC JOB FUNCTION

The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for supporting several job functions within the Loan Accounting Department including but not limited to processing monetary and non-monetary transactions, preparing loan packages and ensuring incoming mail is sorted and distributed. This position is responsible for identifying and adhering to best practices in order to minimize risk and potential losses.

JOB DUTIES

• Prepares daily monetary upload transactions through the batch cycle entries while maintaining records, files and controls

• Using Excel and the payment upload, create and balance all daily loan monetary batches

• Apply proper treatment to reverse to reapply cash and non-cash adjustments following departmental business rules

• Manually correct all monetary and non-monetary system exception rejects

• Research and resolve accounts according to payment disputes in relation to missing payments, misapplied payments, unauthorized payments and over payments

• Review and approve all customer related refunds to ensure accurate accounting and compliance to policies and procedures

• Manually research and resolve all bank and payment channel related exceptions and related disputes

• Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of account maintenance items, due date changes, extensions and modifications

• Provide efficient and adequate responses to customer and internal department inquiries

• Complete the reconciliation process of new loan packages and review of loan package files on a daily basis

• Promotes a cooperative and productive work environment

• Provide support to other departments on an as needed basis

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree

• 2-3 years of finance experience preferred

• Ability to demonstrate analytical capabilities

• Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills

• Team player with ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Strong Data Entry Skills with high attention to detail
