CornerStone Staffing is currently recruiting for the following temporary position:

Job Title: Medical Collector

Location: Temple, TX (position is ONSITE, going through June)

Pay: $18/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Description:

The Medical Insurance Claims Collector is responsible for appealing denied hospital based claims. The Medical collectors is responsible for contacting the insurance companies to validate the denial and ensure that the appeal is processed timely. Once the appeal is processed and finalized the collector reviews the A/R to ensure that the claim is paid full. In the event that the denial is upheld the collectors documentation and rationale is reviewed by the appeal writer to determine their next course of action.

Requirements:

• Must have experience working in a medical/healthcare collections role - 2+ years

• Must have experience responding to denied insurance claims and writing appeals to insurance companies

• Ability to work in a production based driven environment

• Working knowledge of insurance billing/coding guidelines

• Intermediate understanding of contracts and A/R principles

• Excellent and written communication skills resulting in positive communication

• The ability to demonstrate analytical and mathematical skills

• Extreme attention to detail and the ability to prioritize activities

• Experience with using healthcare web-based applications - ability to work in a paperless environment

• Ability to work collaboratively with others

• Annual flu vaccination is required for this specific job opportunity

• Facility is tobacco-free, must be a non-smoker for this specific job
