Job Description
CornerStone Staffing is recruiting for a Part Time Animal Technician to support a municipality in Arlington (76018).
Animal Technician Minimum Requirements:
-
Knowledge of the principles and practices of disease control
-
Knowledge of the symptoms of animal diseases, basic animal behavior (domestic and wild), care, and basic first aid
-
Skill in communicating with other city employees and the public by oral and/or written means
-
Skill in managing multiple tasks
-
Ability to work effectively when surrounded by loud noise
-
Ability to receive detailed information through oral or written communication
-
Ability to lift and/or exert forces equivalent to 50lbs
-
Ability to operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to water hoses, dishwashers and/or restraining equipment, computer, and copier
-
Ability to decipher labels on but not limited to cleaning agents and medical containers
-
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
-
Ability to keep and prepare accurate records
-
Ability to follow specific instruction

Animal Technician Job Summary:
-
Provide excellent humane care for the animals taken in and housed within Animal Service
-
Feeds and cares for animals
-
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing animal kennels, pens, and cages
-
Administering vaccinations and oral/topical medications to animals
Animal Technician Job Functions :
-
Provide and ensure the humane treatment of animals by providing food and water in accordance with established policies, practices, and state/local laws
-
Maintain a healthy environment by properly cleaning and disinfecting animal cages in accordance with established disease control policies and practices
-
Receive animals and maintain associated paperwork, such as an animal identification card and any related medical treatment records
-
Perform minor medical procedures, including but not limited to, vaccinating and micro-chipping
-
Observe animals to detect indications of disease and respond according as defined in established policies and practices
-
Recognize the need for repairs and report them accordingly
-
Remove waste or debris, wash feeding/watering utensils, and equipment, launder towels, blankets, or other bedding
-
Maintain stock and storage rooms in a neat and organized manner, stock inventory of food, litter, cleaning supplies, etc. in accordance with established policies and practices
Animal Technician Pay: $15/hr
Animal Technician Shift Hours:
