Job Title: Patient Access Representative

Location: Austin, TX 78735

Pay: $17.00/hr

Schedule: Several shifts available

6 PM - 6 PM, Saturday - Sunday (Part Time)

7 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday (Full Time)

9 AM - 9 PM, Thursday - Saturday (Full Time)

2 PM - 10 PM, Monday - Friday (Full Time)

Job Description:

• Will obtain current and accurate demographics and insurance information in order to register patient, verification of insurance benefits and negotiate and collection patient financial responsibilities

• Verifies patient eligibility for insurance coverage and appropriate benefit levels for anticipated services. Calculate and Collect all patient liability due according to BSW Financial Clearance Policies related to existing and/or bad debt accounts.

• Determines patient liability and advises patient of deposit requirements per policy.

• Negotiates payment arrangements with patient where necessary per policy.

• Exhibits a high level of empathy with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and family members during traumatic events, while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.

• Maintain a professional demeanor in a highly stressful and emotional environment, to include crime, behavioral health and/or suffering patients in addition to life/death situations.

Requirements:

• Must have 1+ year of customer service or healthcare experience

• Must have a stable work history - no job hoppers

• Healthcare experience is preferred

• Excellent and written communication skills resulting in positive communication

• Extreme attention to detail and the ability to prioritize activities

• Experience with using healthcare web-based applications - ability to work in a paperless environment

• Ability to work collaboratively with others

• High school diploma or GED required

• Must have a flu shot prior to starting
