Job Title: Records & Information Specialist/Records Management Coordinator
Location: Downtown Dallas (Daily parking is self-funded)
Compensation: $20/hour
Job Summary: This role focuses on managing organizational records, ensuring compliance, developing records retention policies, and providing staff training.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and enforce records retention schedules.

Maintain and organize physical and digital filing systems.

Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.

Oversee records digitization and migration processes.
-
Collaborate with IT and legal teams on information governance initiatives.

Train staff on records management policies and best practices.

Recommend new records management technologies and equipment.

Coordinate the transfer of records to and from storage facilities.

Conduct audits to ensure proper record-keeping procedures.

Oversee the secure disposal of obsolete records in compliance with policies.
Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor s degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field OR Associate degree in a relevant field with 4 years of experience and applicable certification OR Master s degree in a relevant field with 1 year of experience and certification.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in records management, compliance, document control, or bookkeeping

Certifications: Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP) preferred.

Valid Texas driver s license with a clean driving record.

Proficiency in Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS) or Document Management Systems (DMS), such as Laserfiche, OpenText, or SharePoint.

Familiarity with database management and metadata standards.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective project management capabilities.

Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally.

Understanding of legal frameworks such as EPCRA, GDPR, HIPAA, or other compliance standards.

Familiarity with ISO 15489 (Records Management Standards).
