Job Title: Senior Commercial Construction Estimator

Pay: $100,000 - $135,000/annually

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Job Description:

As a Senior Estimator, you'll be responsible for establishing preliminary, real-time, and final cost estimates. With expertise in procurement, you'll handle various construction project types, including hard bid GC pursuits, design-assist construction management roles, and design-build projects. Your role involves defining work scope, assigning it to trade partners, and compiling data into bids or estimates for procurement.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop procurement strategies and execute them during bid time.

  • Cultivate and maintain trade partner relationships.

  • Identify, understand, manage, and communicate project risks.

  • Generate new work opportunities.

  • Maintain project estimates using Hensel Phelps estimating software.

  • Lead a team of estimators during project procurements.

  • Assist in converting project estimates into financial status reports, cost controls, and labor recaps.

  • Organize and maintain accurate pricing data.

  • Communicate estimate scope and pricing to clients and purchase scopes with associated subcontracts.

  • Develop bid package schedules and manage bid packaging.

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to develop purchasing plans and associated subcontracts.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Hensel Phelps formats and procedures and train other estimators as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5-10 years of experience on large commercial construction projects *REQUIRED*.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.

  • Valid Driver s License.

  • Extensive experience in various contract delivery types (e.g., hard bid, CM@R, Design/Build).

  • Expertise in conceptual estimating and hard bid environments.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in software programs like On-Screen Take-Off, Building Connected, SAGE, and Assemble.

  • Ability to write bid packages and subcontracts/purchase agreements.

  • Proficient in conceptual estimating using assembly pricing.

  • Established local relationships within the construction/AE industry.

On-boarding Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Criminal Background & Drug Screening

  • 2 verifiable employment references
